Back in 2023, Disclosure Services teamed up with uCheck, part of The Citation Group, in an effort to build the best background screening service in the UK.
Over the past year, we've been working behind the scenes to bring you Atlas, a screening platform that integrates the finest features from both our businesses to offer you an even greater background screening experience. Soon you'll be able to enjoy the enhanced benefits that Atlas brings, including:

- A wider range of checks
- Increased performance
- An even bigger team to support you

How it will work
uCheck is the biggest DBS checking business in the UK, simplifying background checks for over 30,000 organisations just like yours. Their services can help your business confidently recruit the best talent.
They offer a wide range of background screening checks, including DBS, Disclosure Scotland, Identity, Right to Work, and Adverse Credit. With uCheck, you only pay for the checks you need, as you need them.
By working with uCheck, your business will benefit from:

- A dedicated support team that’s always ready to assist you
uCheck bought Disclosure Services back in 2023, and you have been a uCheck customer since then.
After reviewing both systems and services, we made the decision to move customers from the Disclosure Services platform to Atlas for the following reasons:
- Response times – Due to the way Atlas manages reviewing DBS applications, uCheck can reduce the average timeframe for an application.
- System functionality – Atlas has more features and functionality than the Disclosure Services system.
- New features – By having one system, we can release new features more regularly to improve your experience.
- Performance – Due to the increased speed in Atlas, the system is better equipped for greater performance.
- Service – Atlas allows uCheck’s service teams to give you a higher level of service and quicker responses.
- Range of checks – Atlas allows you to undertake more than just DBS checks.
- Configurability – Through the uCheck Head Office functions, customers can better configure their experience.
If you’re already a uCheck customer, you will have a new account added to uCheck, and you will be linked to the new account as well as your existing uCheck account.

No, the pricing you currently pay with Disclosure Services will remain the same with uCheck. In some cases, it might be less than you pay now!
Most customers will remain on the same payment terms. If you’re one of the small number of customers changing terms, your admin user will have been notified by email.
We are planning to start your switch from the Disclosure Services to Atlas from mid-November 2024.
The following email titles will have given you the date of your move:

- Two weeks to go before your move to uCheck ⏳

While we transition you to Atlas, your account will be inaccessible for 24 hours. Access to your Disclosure Services account will be disabled at 3pm, and you will regain access through your uCheck account starting at 3pm the next day.
Your move will take place on a set date, which you’ll be informed of by email very soon, as set out above.
You’ll receive an email to your admin user email address a few weeks before the changes. This is focused on ensuring your administrator has all the information necessary to successfully fulfil their role. It explains the timelines and provides information on billing, pricing, data security, and a link to this site.
Once everything is set up, we’ll send you an email welcoming you to uCheck and reminding you where you can go for help and guidance, providing your all-important login details.
You can then log in and use Atlas!
Yes, in uCheck, we use different sub-processors to Disclosure Services, and the T&Cs for the system are slightly different. You can find our privacy policy and T&Cs in the links below:
Any applications less than 6 months old at the time of migration, not including partially completed applications or rejected applications, will be available in the Atlas Background Screening Platform.
We’re aware that some clients may require more than the previous 6 months’ worth of data. If this is the case for your business, we’re able to transfer application data up to 5 years old upon request. Simply fill out this form and we’ll migrate any additional data for you.
Please note that we aren’t able to migrate applicant data in the pre-certification stage due to the number of risks this poses. As a result, you’ll have to restart these applications. We’re sorry for any inconvenience this causes.
Data hosted in the Disclosure Services platform will no longer be accessible to clients via the platform and securely deleted once the Disclosure Services platform is retired.
If you wish to retain any information, please download it in the system or speak to client services on migration@ucheck.co.uk.
From your migration date, you will no longer be able to access the Disclosure Services system, view your results, or start new applications on Disclosure Services. If you do not wish to have your account migrated, please notify us before the migration date, and we will arrange to close your account. However, we’d love to talk to you first to chat about your concerns, as we really believe there are lots of benefits available to you from this move. So please reach out using the options below if this is the case.
If you do wish to close your account, you can do this by emailing migration@ucheck.co.uk. If you choose not to migrate and have applications in process, please email us, and we will send you the results of any completed checks.
